New UK stand up paddle boarding mag

I’ve been involved with stand up paddle boarding from the very early days of its renaissance in the UK. Whilst not the first in the country I was one of the few in my home town out sweeping regularly during SUP’s re-emergence. (SUP has been around for longer than you’d think in some way, shape or form).

During those early years only three of us paddled our home waters regularly. The main reason for me was to rehabilitate an ankle injury I had sustained and ride the offshore sand bar waves we get out front. There are now many more paddlers frequenting my local and I’d like to think I played a part in growing these numbers.

As well as being an active participant in the sport I’ve also written about stand up, more or less, from the off. Being involved with the first issue of SUP International, helping to develop an online SUP community via a successful website, contributing to mags/ezines/blogs and helping deliver content for various SUP brands; I’ve been covering a lot of bases.

One thing lacking though has been a UK focused stand up paddle boarding mag – until now! During the last couple of months I’ve been working with the publishers of The Paddler towards rectifying this. I’m now delighted to announce the first issue of Stand Up Paddle Mag will be available for your viewing pleasure just before Easter 2014 – and we can’t wait!

In the meantime you can follow Stand Up Paddle Mag on Facebook and Google Plus and keep up to date with behind the scenes tales, sneak peeks of the upcoming issue and stay abreast of all that UK SUP has to offer. Like our Facebook and Google Plus pages and keep in the loop.

Here’s to new beginnings and the continued growth of one of the most fun watersports out there.
