Artificial surfing waves

Scoring a decent surf session is tricky dicky – especially if you don’t live at the coast. Swells can be fickle and windows of opportunity limited as our hectic lives and responsibilities get in the way.

Artificial waves provide a means of quenching our thirst without having to travel miles to surf breaks. Wavegarden, Kelly Slater Wave Co and FlowRider facilities are already in existence (or imminent) and it’s only a matter of time before we see the planned Wavegarden pools pop up in Bristol and Wales.

Check out my Faking it: artificial waves article over on outdoorbuzz.net to see what all the fuss is about.
